Hello Ms. Davis, to all of the Blue Star Mothers of the Upstate Chapter, and BB&T Lighthouse Project
I want to Thank You again for all the smiles that you packaged up and sent to this Hot and Arid desert. The Pizza Party was successful and we were able to share many letters with the Men and Women in Uniform here at the base. To everyone who contributed to the Pizza meal..we want to say Thank You. We cannot forget about the Girl Scout Cookies either!
In a few days, we will be sending a package to the Blue Star Mothers Chapter of the Upstate; an American flag, flown into combat, over Afghanistan by a United States Air Force MC-12 flight crew. Handsomely presented in a wooden frame with certificate. This is our way of saying Thank You to the many people involved with spending their time and effort to give us a little warmth of "Home".

Please understand, we cannot give you names of all the smiles in each picture.

Dear Greenville Upstate Blue Star Mothers,
On behalf of the deployed service members of the Defense Intelligence Support Office - Afghanistan, Defense Intelligence Agency, I would like to extend our sincerest appreciation for your thoughtfulness and generosity. The Girl Scout cookies have been a remarkable morale boost for our troops as well as other soldiers we have shared with, and the Pizza Parties in a Box couldn't have come at a better time. We just acquired a charcoal grill and tested it with our pizza-making skills!! The turnout was much larger than we expected but we had plenty of ingredients for all! The pizza party provided a blessed opportunity for us to gather together and eat well on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.
Thank you so much for thinking of us time and time again. I have
attached the following pictures for you to share:
LTC Edwards (US Army) preparing the grill
LTC Edwards, MSG Pipkin and SFC Peacock (all US Army)
SFC Hazlett (US Army) putting his pizza on the grill
The pizza grill - what a feast!
Best Regards,
Mel

Greenville Upstate Blue Star Mothers,
Thank you from C Co, 40th Engineer Battalion, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team stationed in Northern Afghanistan.
We call a small outpost along the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan home and welcome the package of girl scout cookies you sent. My men and women are working hard to maintain the peace here in Northern Afghanistan and train the Afghan National Police to the point that they can operate on their own. Your contributions help keep us going and we cannot thank you enough for your efforts. I will put these out tonight at dinner and hopefully send some pictures back to you tomorrow.
Thanks again. We appreciate your support.
Respectfully,
Neil Kester

Blue Star Mothers,
HHC 325 BSB sends its appreciation to you and all the Girl Scouts of America for your tremendous contributions to the troops. The cookies were distributed throughout the office, living quarters, and neighboring units. The cookies made up for some of the rough times we experience in the Combat Zone here in Afghanistan by turning frowns into smile and giving Soldiers a piece of home. From the Soldiers of Operation Enduring
Freedom, Thanks for caring!

We have received three boxes of Girl Scout Cookies so far and I want to be the first to say Thank You for your thoughtfulness.
I left one box in our Maintenance Control building that also houses our materials/ shipping and receiving, and HR offices. They will enjoy the cookies for the next several days. The other boxes, I will distribute out to the other two areas: one; the flight line, where most of the technicians are out in the heat every day, and second; the phase hanger..where I work. There will be plenty of grateful guys who are not watching their figure and will eat the cookies in between meals.
I have given my two other roommates first and second choice of what cookies they wanted..the rest, I will take tomorrow and let them have at it!
Thank you again for your support.

Dear Blue Star Mothers,
I want to say thank you so much for the care package of Girl
Scout cookies that you sent to me. Gifts like that serve as a reminder that we are not alone when we are over here working and that your thoughts and prayers accompany us. You can rest assure that these cookies will be enjoyed, because I have yet to meet a Marine that can resist the temptation of eating an entire box of girl scout cookies. I want to say again thank you on behalf of the Marines of MALS 40 Cryogenics for your thoughts and prayers, and of course the cookies!Sincerely,
Cpl Mills, Thomas D.

Note from Corey Wynn - former Greenville young man
Everything's going well where we are in NW Iraq. Just received a few packages last week! Thank you so much- y'all put together such great packages. I put the boxes out for my guys to go through and everything was grabbed up within minutes. Really is a morale booster getting some good snacks and hygiene supplies. Thank you for all you do for us.

Dropping you a few lines to say "THANK YOU" to you and to all who had a hand in sending me an outstanding care package. When I opened the box, I was in awe of what I saw.
Everything is great and I really appreciate it. I will definitely share these cookies with my fellow Airmen because I know they love them too and to possibly spare me some extra size around the waist. LOL
Thank you Greenville Upstate Blue Star Mothers for bringing joy in a box to us all The way over here in South Korea.
